• Brief description of your expertise / expertise you are looking for:

  We are looking for partners specialized in 1) targeted delivery and controlled activation of antimicrobial agents 2) antimicrobial peptides targeting bacterial membranes 3) murine infection models for testing the combination of the developed antimicrobials with antibiotics. Our expertise is in the structural, biochemical/biophysical characterization, and protein engineering of endolysins.

• Brief description of your project / the project you would like to join:

  The project will develop novel protein-based antimicrobials for combination therapies with current antibiotics. Phage endolysins will be used for protein engineering to improve their catalytic efficiency, stability, and membrane permeability. The primary target bacteria are Acinetobacter baumannii and Enterococcus faecium but other ESKAPE pathogens can also be considered.
