I am senior academic and researcher at the Universidad de las Fuerzas Armadas ESPE (13 y), affiliated to the Department of Life and Agricultural Sciences. I lead the Laboratory of Genetic Improvement and Animal Health (LMGSA), a Biosafety Level 2+ (BSL-2+) laboratory, and I am a core member of the Animal and Human Health Research Group (GISAH) at ESPE. I have extensive experience in animal health, livestock biosecurity, zoonotic diseases, and applied research in agricultural systems, with a strong focus on translating scientific evidence into practical interventions at farm level. My team has biotechnologists, agronomers, veterinarians, an Epidemiologist in AMR who currently work in the ARES project for disease prioritization and biosafety meassures in educational and cetinnel farms. However we are missing the following profiles: - Health Information Systems / IT Specialist (One Health focus) - Veterinary Epidemiologist / One Health Epidemiologist - Environmental Health or Environmental Microbiology Specialist - Data Scientist / Biostatistician - Behavioural and Social Science Expert (Agricultural/Rural focus) - Anthropoligist for indegenous communities
Research on transmission pathways, and resistance mechanisms tramitted through animal welfare in rural Amazonian production farms. Develop an integrated surveillance systems that captures AMU and AMR across species and environments, in production farms from rural Amazonian areas. Evidence-based risk assessments to inform restrictions on veterinary antimicrobials to authorities and integration in public policy. Improve or establish biosecurity strategies that reduce antimicrobial reliance in farming in rural settings - particulary in informal Amazon farms.
