Expertise offered: Synthesis of stimuli-responsive supramolecular handles and advanced surface functionalization. We specialize in creating "Molecular Velcro" interfaces for the reversible capture and release of bioactive agents. Expertise sought: Microbiologists (biofilm assays, clinical isolates), clinicians (medical device requirements), or industrial partners specializing in medical-grade coating (PU, PVC, Silicone).
This project introduces a "Plug-and-Play" antibacterial surface based on dynamic supramolecular chemistry. Unlike static coatings, our platform uses stimuli-responsive molecular switches to remotely control the attachment and release of antibacterial ligands. The goal is to provide regenerative coatings for medical devices (e.g., catheters) or hospital surfaces. By allowing the "on-demand" release of bacteria and the subsequent reloading of the surface, we minimize the environmental spread of resistance and extend device longevity. We seek to join a consortium focusing on Topic 1 to validate this proof-of-concept with clinical isolates and biofilm models.
