clinical microbiology; antimicrobial resistance; antimicrobial susceptibility testing; clinical isolates; hospital-acquired infections
I am a clinical microbiologist with expertise in hospital epidemiology and antimicrobial resistance. Our unit has access to a large collection of clinical bacterial isolates from hospitalized patients, including multidrug-resistant organisms, and performs antimicrobial susceptibility testing using reference methods (EUCAST-compliant). We are looking for partners interested in combination therapies, antimicrobial synergy testing, pharmacodynamic studies, who would benefit from clinical isolates and AST data.
We are interested in joining or co-developing a project focused on novel or repurposed antimicrobial combinations to address infections caused by resistant bacterial pathogens (incl. healthcare-associated infection factors). Our contribution would include providing clinical isolates, performing reference antimicrobial susceptibility testing, and supporting the clinical and epidemiological interpretation of results. The project may include in vitro synergy testing, comparison of susceptibility profiles, and assessment of translational relevance for hospital settings.
