protein biosynthesis ribosome cryo-EM
I am a cell and molecular biologist with strong expertise in protein biosynthesis, ribosome function, and cellular stress responses. My research focuses on drug-induced inhibition of translation, ribosome biogenesis stress, and the formation of stress granules in human cells. I have extensive experience with in vitro and cellular translation assays, polysome profiling, ribosome-associated complexes, and functional validation of small-molecule inhibitors. I am particularly interested in repurposing existing drugs and identifying synergistic antimicrobial combinations that impair translation or ribosome function in pathogens and host cells.
I am interested in joining a consortium developing novel antimicrobial combination therapies, particularly projects aiming to enhance drug efficacy by targeting protein synthesis or ribosome-associated pathways. I can contribute mechanistic studies on translation inhibition, assessment of drug synergy at the level of protein biosynthesis, and cellular validation of antimicrobial combinations. My expertise may support the identification of adjunctive compounds that sensitize bacteria or reduce resistance development by interfering with translational control mechanisms.
