  • Country: United Kingdom (UK)
  • Career stage: Other.

Research area

  • Scientific area(s) of the call:
    1. Topic 3: Assess the impact of antimicrobials for veterinary and agricultural use on the risk of AMR transmission to humans and the environment to inform policies on the restriction of some antimicrobials for human use.
  • One Health Setting:

    H - Human Health

    A - Animal Health

  • Keywords:

Antimicrobial resistance; evolution; susceptibility testing; bioinformatics; mode of action

  • Brief description of your expertise / expertise you are looking for:

I have extensive experience in mode of action studies, microbial evolution in physiologically relevant contexts, susceptibility testing and using bioinformatics to identify novel mechanisms of resistance and/or movement of mobile genetic elements. I also have expertise in molecular biology.

  • Brief description of your project / the project you would like to join:

Happy to join any project which requires understanding of how antibiotics work, how they evolve/acquire resistance in physiologically relevant environments (e.g. humans vs animals) and/or require bioinformatics to identify how mobile genetic elements are involved in AMR or looking for new mechanisms of resistance.
