• Brief description of your expertise / expertise you are looking for:

  Polymer chemist developing membrane-active antimicrobial polymer as alternative to antibiotics. Polymers dont cause AMR but are not yet selective enough for clinical trials. Such polymers have a broad spectrum activity. Combination with conventional antibiotics can lead to synergies.

• Brief description of your project / the project you would like to join:

  One idea could be the combination of antimicrobial polymers with conventional antibiotics. Has been shown to restore activity of antibiotics that were inactive due to resistance and can enhance antibiotic by synergistic action (e.g. increasing membrane permeability for antibiotic to reach intracellular target. Would love to be part of a project with people more experienced in translation of such treatments that would be able to use materials made by us and bring them closer to application. Animal health setting might be a good way and would help with reducing AMR by making treatment more efficient and reduce overall antibiotic use.
