  • Organisation: University of Parma
  • Country: Italy (IT)
  • Career stage: Other.

Research area

  • Scientific area(s) of the call:
    1. Topic 1: Identify and develop new combination treatments using existing or innovative antimicrobials or antimicrobial with adjunctive treatments to extend drug efficacy and combat resistance.
  • One Health Setting:

    H - Human Health

    A - Animal Health

  • Keywords:

antimicrobial resistance; medicinal chemistry; PPI inhibitors; structure-based drug design; probe for targets

  • Brief description of your expertise / expertise you are looking for:

I am a medicinal chemist specializing in early-stage antibacterial discovery, with a strong focus on PPI inhibitors, small molecules and peptide-inspired scaffolds. My research is target-driven and integrates insights from structural biology, computational modelling and biochemical collaborations to support rational design and target validation. I work across multidisciplinary teams to explore novel antibacterial mechanisms, generate chemical probes, and develop innovative strategies against priority AMR pathogens.

  • Brief description of your project / the project you would like to join:

I am interested in joining projects focused on developing innovative antibacterial strategies that combine existing antibiotics with inhibitors of non-essential bacterial targets. My research experience includes designing small molecules and peptide-inspired scaffolds that potentiate antibiotic activity by disrupting key protein–protein interactions or metabolic pathways. I aim to contribute medicinal chemistry expertise to consortia exploring synergistic combinations, target engagement through chemical probes, and early validation of novel pathways that enhance antibiotic efficacy against priority AMR pathogens.
