• Brief description of your expertise / expertise you are looking for:

  We are looking for lung organoid/organ-on-a-chip models to test our combination therapy approach, to demonstrate ability to safely clear P. aeruginosa infection. We are also looking for partners who could test our approach on an in vivo model of P. aeruginosa infection.

• Brief description of your project / the project you would like to join:

  Medusa Pharmaceuticals is based on the discovery of a powerful synergy between aminoglycoside antibiotics and alkylating agents. We have demonstrated this synergy to be highly effective at potentiating aminoglycoside activity against P. aeruginosa (in vitro) even overcoming antibiotic resistance to the aminoglycoside. Initial safety testing (in vitro) in human cell culture shows this approach to be safe, providing a wide therapeutic window to work in. In this project, we aim to progress our in vitro work by demonstrating safe clearance of infection in a human organoid model, then in vivo using mouse models.
