  • One Health Setting:

    H - Human Health

    A - Animal Health

  • Keywords:

    Reverse-ecology metabolic trade-offs population genomics

  • Brief description of your expertise / expertise you are looking for:

We bring expertise in microbial population genomics and reverse ecology. We are looking for experts in microbial metabolism and/or a particular pathogen group from the bacterial priority pathogens list.

  • Brief description of your project / the project you would like to join:

This project applies a reverse ecology and population-genomic framework to identify metabolic vulnerabilities in ecologically differentiated subpopulations of key pathogenic bacteria. We will predict metabolic targets within these subpopulations that generate fitness trade-offs under antimicrobial stress, then systematically screen the substrates or products associated with those targets to assess their interactions with antibiotic susceptibility. By coupling population-specific metabolic profiling with antimicrobial interaction assays, this work aims to identify metabolic trade-offs that can be therapeutically leveraged to improve treatment outcomes.
