  • Brief description of your expertise / expertise you are looking for:

CYQU is a cybersecurity SME specializing in post-quantum cryptography (PQC), hybrid key infrastructures, and algorithmic verification, with a focus on FIPS 203-205 compliance, side-channel resistance, and formal verification of PQC implementations. For the NEPTUNE project, we are seeking academic, research and industrial partners. We aim to advance the European PQC research frontier, from efficient algorithm design to verified, interoperable implementations ready for integration into next-generation trust infrastructures.

  • Brief description of your project / the project you would like to join:

NEPTUNE (Next-Generation Post-Quantum Trust and Encryption Networks) aims to advance Europe’s scientific and technological leadership in post-quantum cryptography (PQC) through fundamental and applied research on quantum-resilient encryption, signatures, and hybrid trust frameworks. As quantum computing approaches practical threat levels, the transition from classical to post-quantum security has become an urgent strategic priority for governments, critical infrastructures, and industry. The project will focus on R&D of efficient, verifiable, and interoperable PQC algorithms and frameworks, addressing three core research challenges: (1) designing optimized lattice- and hash-based cryptographic schemes suitable for embedded and edge environments; (2) developing hybrid migration architectures that combine classical and PQC primitives for gradual deployment; and (3) creating automated verification and benchmarking tools to evaluate side-channel resistance, mathematical correctness, and performance under real-world constraints. NEPTUNE will deliver new cryptographic constructions, open-source implementations, and validation toolkits to strengthen the EU’s PQC ecosystem and ensure alignment with FIPS 203-205 and ETSI/ISO standards. The project will also explore hardware-software co-design approaches for PQC acceleration and contribute to European standardization activities. By combining theoretical research, experimental validation, and formal verification, NEPTUNE will help establish a trusted foundation for secure communication and computation in the post-quantum era, directly supporting QuantERA’s priorities in quantum-enhanced security and digital resilience.
