• Brief description of your expertise / expertise you are looking for:

  Our laboratory fabricates and tests PV prototypes up to 15x15 cm2 along with large-area interlayers of EVA and PVB. The laboratory’s current research focuses on the development of light-conversion films (luminescent solar concentrators (LSC) and downshifting) specifically designed at improving spectral management and long-term stability of PV modules, as well as enabling efficient spectral tuning for agrivoltaics and building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) applications. Our tuneable fabrication equipment allows the fabrication of LSC and downshifting layer based on Quantum Dots, both commercial and in-house synthesised. Furthermore an in-house developed LED solar simulator provides a ultra-wide spectral coverage for precision characterisation and accelerating aging tests. We also fabricate thin Germanium films via Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapour Deposition which are promising as negative electrodes for lithium ion batteries.

• Brief description of your project / the project you would like to join:

  We seek to join a consortium advancing quantum-enhanced spectral management for PV or agrivoltaics and technologies based on Quantum Science. Thanks to QD light conversion layers, the P module efficiency can be boost while simultaneously mitigate UV degradation or spectrally tuning light for crops and facades. Prototypes development and optical testings can be achieved within our lab equipment.
