The expertise of my research group is based on the development of novel, biocompatible, non-toxic, and efficient nano-antimicrobials to improve the efficacy of existing antimicrobials/drugs/plant protection agents against resistant pathogens and to make MDR pathogens susceptible by overcoming their specific mechanism of resistance. We have been developing nano-therapeutics and preventive solutions (food-grade, feed-grade) using bio-based GRAS (generally recognized as safe) polymers (biomacromolecules) at nano/micro-scale including core-shell, multi-component, surface-engineered, targeted and stimuli-responsive nano-antimicrobials containing single or combination of antimicrobials to combat the multi-, extensive-, and pan drug-resistant pathogens.
Our group is looking for a project that aims to develop innovative strategy (improved delivery and efficacy, new materials, novel chemistry, nano-antimicrobials) to combat resistant pathogens (Gram negative and Gram positive) affecting human and/or animal health.
