• Brief description of your expertise / expertise you are looking for:

  I have experience in the isolation and cultivation of avian, porcine and small ruminant mycoplasmas, the study of the biochemical and enzymatic profile and serological techniques. I collaborated in the development of an indirect ELISA. I have also worked on the production of inactivated vaccines against mycoplasmas. I also work with molecular biology techniques: PCR, real-time PCR, specific and generic PCR design, sequencing, phylogenetic analysis... With special emphasis on the search for mutations in the genome related to resistance to antibiotics. With private companies we have searched for plant and algae extracts with antibacterial activity. I am currently working on antibacterial resistance (CMIs, complete genomes and the search for new antimicrobials). I belong to the Spanish National Network of Laboratories for the Surveillance of Resistant Microorganisms.
