Thursday, 20 September 2012

In July the National Science Centre became a member of the NORFACE (New Opportunities for Research Funding Agency Co-operation in Europe) consortium, working within an ERA-NET-type network, it has 15 European countries and Canada as members. The consortium carries out the mission of funding research in social sciences.

As of today NORFACE has launched two funding opportunities for international research projects by teams whose members represent at least 3 countries participants. As a result of the former, Re-emergence of Religion as a Social Force in Europe?, launched in 2006, 10 projects were selected for funding. In the latter, titled Migration in Europe – Social, Economic, Cultural and Policy Dynamics, covering the years 2008 and 2009, 12 projects were awarded.

The organisation of the third call for proposals, Welfare State Futures, is concerned with welfare states in the 21st century and is currently underway. Information on this funding opportunity will be published on the websites of the NCN and the NORFACE consortium.
