BEETHOVEN: funding opportunity for Polish-German research projects

BEETHOVEN is a funding opportunity for joint Polish-German research teams:

  • in Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences as well as in selected fields of Physical Sciences and Engineering (BEETHOVEN CLASSIC 3),
  • in Life Sciences (BEETHOVEN LIFE 1).

Within BEETHOVEN scheme NCN funds only projects involving basic research.

Proposals for research projects in the above-listed disciplines must be written in English and submitted by joint Polish-German research teams. The duration of the projects must be either 24 or 36 months.

BEETHOVEN 2: call for Polish-German joint research projects

BEETHOVEN 2 funded projects

We are pleased to invite all researchers to submit proposals under Beethoven 2 call for Polish-German research projects in Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences as well as selected fields of Physical Sciences. Proposals must be submitted by Polish-German research teams by the 15th of December 2016. Results will be published in October 2017.

The call covers the following research disciplines:

  • all Humanities disciplines
  • all Social Sciences disciplines

as well as most subjects belonging to the areas of:

  • Chemistry
  • Mathematics
  • Physics (including Astronomy)
  • Materials Science

Project duration: 24 or 36 months

Evaluation criteria:

  • scientific excellence of the research project,
  • the research portfolio of the research team,
  • project feasibility and budget justification.

Application process:

The joint project description has to be  submitted simultaneously via German submission platform ELAN and Polish OSF submission system by December 15, 2016. In addition Polish applicants must submit a hard copy of the proposal to the NCN.
