Prof. dr hab. Bronisław Rudak

Bronisław Rudak is Professor of Physical Sciences; he is Head of the CAMK Department of Astrophysics in Toruń.
His research topics include high-energy astrophysics, relativistic astrophysics, and mulitmessenger astronomy. He was a long-term visiting research fellow at Pennsylvania State University, Max-Planck-Institut für Astrophysik (Garching), and Dept. d’Astrophysique Relativiste et Cosmologie CNRS (Paris-Meudon). For ten years he gave lectures for students of physics and astronomy at UMK in Toruń.
Since 2004 he has been a member of „The High Energy Stereoscopic System (H.E.S.S.) Collaboration“, one of the leading observatories studying very high energy gamma-ray astrophysics with a system of Imaging Atmospheric Cherenkov Telescopes located in Namibia. He is also a member of the Polish Consortium in „The Cherenkov Telescope Array (CTA) Consortium“, and he participates in the development of research programs for the CTA observatories under construction in Chile and La Palma.
He reviewed research projects to KBN, NCN, MNiSW, National Research Foundation (SA), and Research Grants Council (Hongkong). He was a member of the ERC Consolidator Grant Peer Review Panel (PE9) in 2019.
He is Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the Astronomy Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences in the 2020 – 2023 term.
